- The Chemical Sciences programs are designed to provide our students with a sound understanding of the principles governing the composition structure, property and the reaction of matter as the related to the living and non living world or substances.
- The use and application of the scientific method goes hand with the study of chemical sciences.
- Objectives:
The specific objectives of the programme are, among others:
- To give the students an intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience in chemical learning
- To provide students with a broad and balanced knowledge of chemistry
- To develop in students the ability to apply their chemical knowledge and skills to the solution of theoretical and practical problems
- To provide students with knowledge of industrial applications that are of national interest in line with the national agenda.
- To prepare students for post graduate studies in Biochemistry, Industrial chemistry and Pure Chemistry related multi-disciplinary areas.
- To equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for self – employment
- To produce graduates with the capacity to understand the rich philosophical imports of this all-embracing science discipline
- To prepare graduates for higher studies and ability to secure jobs.
