In Loving Memory of Edwin Akpagu!
Today, we remember and honour the life of Edwin Akpagu, a cherished member of our community and a dedicated staff member of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu. During a solemn Holy Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kpirikpiri, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Reverend Father Livinus Obijiofor urged all Christians to use their time on earth to serve God and humanity rather than cause trouble.
Reverend Father Obijiofor spoke fondly of Edwin, describing him as a man of faith who lived a peaceful life, serving God through various roles at St. Patrick Catholic Church and Omnium Sanctorum Chaplaincy, Enugu. He highlighted Edwin’s 39 years with quality interactions, talents, dedication, and discipline.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Edwin and the entire Akpagu family, urging them to have strong faith in God as their helper and saviour.
Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, praised Edwin’s meritorious service to the university and prayed for divine assistance for his family. Reverend Father Benjamin Achi led the prayer of the faithful, while Reverend Father Theophilous Ndulue concluded with the final prayers for the departed.
The burial was attended by principal officers, students, and staff of the university, reflecting the high regard and affection we all held for Edwin.
Rest in peace, Edwin Akpagu. Your legacy of faith, service, and dedication will continue to inspire us all.
