Donation of an Ambulance to Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital, Enugu!
Dr. Obi Ozor , the Commissioner for Transportation, Enugu State, has donated an 18-seater Toyota Hummer Bus ambulance to Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital.
At a brief ceremony at the Thinkers Corner campus, Dr. Ozor handed over the keys to the Vice Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke. In his speech, Dr. Ozor emphasized the university’s commitment to holistic education, which goes beyond academics to include moral and other essential elements. He encouraged the university to maintain its philosophy and identity, stressing the importance of the ambulance in saving lives and the normalcy of being transported in an ambulance.
Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Ozor for fulfilling his promise and urging the hospital staff to ensure the proper and efficient use of the vehicle. He highlighted that the ambulance’s purpose is to get people to medical care, not as a sign of fatality.
Professor Cajetan Nwadinigiwe, the Chief Medical Director, celebrated the donation, noting that an ambulance is a critical part of any functional hospital. He urged Nigerians, especially the wealthy, to see supporting healthcare as a social responsibility.
