The 12th convocation of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu provides a unique opportunity to celebrate our journey, overcoming challenges, and the achievements that make us stand out. Speaking at a press conference, our esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, highlighted key accomplishments:
546 Graduates: Proudly sending forth our students, including 27 First-Class achievers!
College of Medicine: Approved for its 2nd MB exams, with the GOUNi Teaching Hospital preparing to welcome its first clinical students next year.
School of Nursing: Launched with full council approval, admitting an initial quota of 100 students.
Campus Expansion: Four new hostels under construction to house over 2000 students at the Ugwuomu campus, thanks to our development partners.
Oxygen Plant: Fully operational and set for commissioning during this year’s convocation.
DNA Centre: In partnership with the state government, addressing paternity and forensic needs for enhanced investigation and public safety.
Staff Welfare: Increased salaries, pension scheme initiation, and solar power installation across hostels.
Infrastructure: A new computer village on the horizon to boost our technology landscape.
Directorate of Competitions: Established to cultivate student talent and enhance GOUNi’s competitive edge.
