The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Godfrey Okoye University, Prof. Bartho Okolo, has applauded Nigerians for their unwavering support and the remarkable turnout of dignitaries at the 12th Convocation Ceremony, despite the nation’s economic and security challenges. He noted that this is a testament to the love and appreciation for the university’s contributions to society.

In his address, Prof. Okolo commended the graduates, describing them as the institution’s greatest gift to humanity. He also praised the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, and the university’s staff for shaping these graduates into future leaders equipped with knowledge, expertise, and entrepreneurial skills. He urged the graduates to confidently embrace the world and use their training to build a brighter future.

The Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Christian Nwachukwu Okeke emphasized that the ceremony marked the conclusion of the graduates’ first academic journey and their integration into society. He encouraged them to leverage the values of Catholic education to excel in their future endeavours.

The Chancellor, Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius Ayau Kaigama hailed the university as “God’s Own University,” celebrating the full approval and accreditation of all 83 programs. He credited the institution’s success to prayers and called for continued spiritual support.

In his inspiring address, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke reflected on the university’s incredible journey of innovation and entrepreneurship. He highlighted achievements such as the establishment of the DNA Learning Centre, the College of Medicine, the Department of Nursing, the STEP Incubation Centre, the Directorate of Competitions, and international collaborations. He also proudly announced that out of 546 graduating students, 26 achieved First Class honours!

To the graduates, he said: “Dream big, pursue your dreams, and never forget the core values of hard work, spirituality, and a deep understanding of culture and humanity that define Godfrey Okoye University.”
