HONOURARY DEGREES AWARDED AT GO UNI’S 12TH CONVOCATION!
During the 12th Convocation Ceremony of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, three distinguished Nigerians were honoured with honourary doctorate degrees for their remarkable contributions to society and the university.
Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed – Former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission was conferred with the Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa).
Doctor Osita Ngwu received the Doctor of Political Science (Honoris Causa).
Mr. Callistus Ifenna Okeke, a prominent businessman, was awarded the Doctor of Management (Honoris Causa).
The awards were conferred by the university’s Chancellor, His Grace, Most Reverend Dr. Ignatius Ayuu Kaigama, Archbishop of Abuja Metropolitan, in recognition of the recipients’ exceptional contributions to national development and the growth of the university.
In his address, Most Reverend Dr. Callistus Onaga, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu, highlighted the Diocese’s unwavering support for the university, citing the release of Ntasi Obi Ndi No n’Afufu Hospital as the university’s teaching hospital. He commended the Diocese’s efforts in collaboration with the Catholic Women Organisation, lay faithful, and the Enugu State Government in driving infrastructural development.
Special appreciation was extended to Dr. Peter Mbah, who built and donated the university’s Law Auditorium before his tenure as Governor of Enugu State, with hopes for continued support in his new role.
Together, we celebrate these achievements as a testament to the vision and excellence of Godfrey Okoye University.
