Dr. Ogbonne Torty is a distinguished scholar in English Education whose work bridges language pedagogy, folklore, applied linguistics, and moral instruction in literature classrooms. A graduate of Abia State University (B.A.Ed), she obtained her M.Ed and Ph.D. in English Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she developed her expertise in collaborative learning methods and their impact on students’ achievement and interest in English.

Her publications explore themes such as AI-powered translation and crosslinguistic communication, folklore as a tool for moral instruction, collaborative learning in ESL classrooms, ethics and value education in universities, and creative writing as a medium for healing childhood trauma. She has also contributed to pedagogical texts on the principles of language teaching and the use of digital tools in education.

At Godfrey Okoye University, Dr. Torty is known for her commitment to mentoring students and fostering innovation in language teaching. Her scholarship continues to advance the integration of culture, ethics, and technology in English education.
