Dr. Rosemary N. Ossai is a linguist and lexicographer whose scholarship bridges French language pedagogy, corpus linguistics, lexicography, and digital language tools. She earned her Ph.D. in French Language and an M.Sc. in French (Arts, Letters, Science of Languages), with extensive experience teaching both Anglophone and Francophone learners.
She is the compiler of the 494-page RON French-English Picture Dictionary (2013; 2nd ed. 2020), a landmark educational resource that integrates visual learning with bilingual lexicography for secondary schools. Her works also include the RON French-English Dictionary for Schools and several studies on electronic dictionaries, vocabulary acquisition, and curriculum review in French education.
Her current research explores digital lexicography, AI-powered language tools, environmental education through language, and intercultural communication for sustainable development. She has contributed to major publications such as Smart Schools Initiative in Enugu State: Using Language as a Linguistic Tool for Eco-Restoration and Sustainability and continues to play a leading role in advancing applied linguistics and bilingual education in Nigeria.
