Rev. Fr. Prof. Donatus Nwobodo is a renowned scholar and administrator in Educational Foundations and a respected Catholic priest. As Head of the Department of Educational Foundations at Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, he has distinguished himself in scholarship, leadership, and mentorship, shaping generations of educators, researchers, and administrators.
He lectures across core areas of philosophy of education, educational psychology, guidance and counseling, and school administration, with a consistent emphasis on moral values, discipline, and holistic learning. His dual calling as a priest and academic positions him uniquely as a voice of integrity and ethical grounding in the Nigerian educational landscape.
Prof. Nwobodo’s research explores school climate, moral education, teacher ethics, curriculum implementation, student adjustment, counseling, and the integration of African traditional values into modern pedagogy. With numerous publications in national and international journals, his works critically engage both classical educational philosophy and contemporary challenges such as post-COVID-19 teaching, deviant behaviors among students, and innovative curriculum resources.
Widely regarded as a pillar of the teaching profession in South Eastern Nigeria, Prof. Nwobodo’s contributions extend beyond academia to community service, counseling, and leadership in faith-based and secular educational reforms.
