We are thrilled to announce that our debating team broke records by reaching the semi-finals in the British Parliamentary Debate organized for Nigerian universities after just one month of intense preparations!
Represented by ten outstanding students from various faculties, our team showcased their incredible talent at the All Nigerian Youth Debate Championship held at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, bringing home a well-deserved medal and an award as the most promising debate team for their exemplary preparation and participation.
Welcoming our exceptional students, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, reiterated our commitment to establishing a university with a distinct identity, emphasizing the pivotal role of our students in shaping our institution.
Expressing his appreciation, Reverend Father Professor Anieke praised our GoUni representatives for their resilience and hard work, urging them to continue striving for excellence and to always aim for the top spot in society.
In her remarks, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Sister Professor Marysylvia Nwachukwu, highlighted the university’s role in shaping the future and commended the students for their dedication and belief in their mission. She expressed optimism that our representatives would positively influence their peers, inspiring them to pursue their goals with determination.
Our students, filled with gratitude, thanked the university management for the opportunity to participate in the competition, pledging to uphold the institution’s image with pride.
