CBCN COMMITTEE ON COLLABORATION VISITS KING DAVID MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, UBURU, EBONYI STATE
The management of King David Medical University, Uburu in Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi State has been advised to stick to the rules laid down by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board in admitting students into the university.The Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu gave the advice at Uburu when the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria Committee on Collaborations visited the university.Reverend Father Professor Anieke urged the Vice Chancellor of the medical university, Professor Jese Uneke as the pioneer VC to set a high standard and strive to sustain the standard.In a speech, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi advised the management of the medical university to ensure that all the faculties and departments in the institutions conformed to the required standard.Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the Medical University, Professor Uneke announced that 14 citizens of the state have been offered scholarships by the state Governor, Chief David Umahi to study medicine in the university.According to Professor Uneke, the first matriculation of the university will take place on the 29th of this month at Uburu, stressing that the National Universities commission has given approval for the institution to admit 50 students for each programme of the university.“The management had made a request for additional approvals for the programmes in each faculty Prof. Uneke said, additing that three hostel blocks were ready for occupation by the studentsResponding, the Leader of the team and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kanu Agabi commended the commitment of Governor Umahi and the management of the institution is ensuring the smooth take off of the university.
