Community Service Day at Abakpa Junction by the Institute of Caregiving Education!

On November 10th, 2025, the Institute of Caregiving Education, Godfrey Okoye University, carried out a successful traffic control exercise for Ndi Enugu at the ever-busy Abakpa Junction, a spot known for its heavy traffic congestion.

As universities are established for teaching, research and community service, this initiative reflects the Institute’s commitment to that third core mandate of giving back to the community.

Beyond easing traffic, the exercise also served as an awareness campaign for the Institute’s new initiative, “Kick Off Slump and Die,” a programme that offers free vital signs checks by trained caregivers to help improve public health in Enugu.

On behalf of the staff and students of the Institute of Caregiving Education, Godfrey Okoye University, I extend heartfelt appreciation to our Father Vice Chancellor and the entire management team for their unwavering support toward the growth and development of the Institute.

Dr Blessing Udeh
