The second day of the 2025/2026 resumption workshop at Godfrey Okoye University focused on how Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are reshaping higher education. The sessions brought together academic and administrative staff to reflect on practical strategies for teaching, assessment, student engagement, and institutional productivity.

Delivering a lecture titled “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education: Strategies for Teaching, Assessment, and Student Engagement,” the Digital Skills and E-learning Manager, Mr. David Attamah of the ICT Directorate highlighted the transformative benefits of ICT. He noted that when properly applied, ICT enhances content development, enriches assessment designs, improves feedback, fosters collaboration, and boosts overall efficiency in the learning environment.

Mr. Attamah emphasized the need to overcome barriers that hinder access to effective pedagogical designs, urging lecturers and staff to embrace digital tools in order to keep pace with global trends in education.

In another presentation, Mr. Lucky Azike ICT Manager spoke on “Repositioning the Administrative Staff and Secretaries’ Skills in an ICT Work Environment for Effective Productivity.” He explained that ICT fosters efficiency, accuracy in communication, and better data management. He called for greater investment in ICT infrastructure and continuous training for administrative officers.
