Directorate of Student Mentorship and Parent Relations hosts Parents’ Forum Meeting and Election for new EXCO Members

On Thursday, 17 November 2022, the Directorate of Student Mentorship and Parent Relations held her 2022/2023 Academic Year Parents’ Forum meeting and Election for new EXCO Members at Peter Mbah Auditorium.

This meeting was started after the registration of members at 12noon.   After observing due protocols, the Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Dr. Christian Anieke, declared the meeting open with a welcome address. Thereafter, the outgoing Chairman, Chief (Sir) Bartholomew Okofar, gave his valedictory speech and score cards. At this juncture, the Vice-Chancellor called for interactions from parents in the auditorium and those, online. Many questions were asked, which were duly clarified by the Vice-Chancellor and Bursar, Mrs. Modesta Egiyi.

An election of new EXCO members was conducted by the Director, Student Mentorship and Parent Relations, Lady Jane Ndukwe. The Returning Officer, Mrs. Peace Ike, read out the names of the successful contestants:

Chairman: Sir Offor Eusebius Chinedu

Deputy Chairman: Dr. Cindy Anene Ezeugwu

Treasurer: Mrs. Maureen ChukwuAnukwu

Financial Secretary: Mrs. Elonye Angela

Secretary: Mrs. Nkechi Fidel Esq

PRO: Jon. Prince Anthony Udaya

The Vice-Chancellor, in agreement with the Parents Forum Constitution, stated that the tenure for EXCO members is two years, and renewable once.

The Registrar of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, Dr. Nnamdi S. Ene received the newly elected EXCO members. The Director of Student Mentorship and Parent Relations, Lady Jane Ndukwe, welcomed the newly elected EXCO members and promised to offer the Directorate’s support in the execution of their assignment.

At the 10th Convocation Ceremony of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu on Saturday 19 November 2022 at Ugwuomu-Nike Main Campus, the newly elected Chairman of Parents Forum, Sir Offor Eusebius Chinedu, presented a bus to the College of Medicine on behalf of Parents Forum and handed the key over to the Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Dr. Christian Anieke.

He promised the support of Parents Forum in the execution of the good works of the Vice-Chancellor and his team.
