Godfrey Okoye University has once again showcased its intellectual prowess and competitive dominance on the national circuit, delivering an outstanding series of performances at the Royal Rhetorics Women’s Open 2026.
Demonstrating exceptional command across both Debate and Public Speaking categories, the GOUNI delegation secured multiple breaking spots and top individual speaker accolades.
In the debate division, two dynamic GOUNI teams broke through to the advanced rounds: Lipgloss and Logic, comprising Favour Egbogu and Churchlassie, as well as team K², featuring Ajoiyi Kosisochukwu and Ifeanyi Best.
Additionally, Favour Egbogu proved her debating strength by ranking as the 8th Best Speaker overall in the Debate category. On the adjudication panel, Donald Chinedu represented the institution with distinction as a Breaking Judge in Debate.
The Public Speaking stage saw sweeping victories for GOUNI speakers and judges alike. Ifeanyi Best delivered a phenomenal performance, clinching the prestigious award for Best Speaker in Public Speaking.
Ajoiyi Kosisochukwu put on an impressive display of eloquence, finishing as the 2nd Runner-Up in Public Speaking and ranking as the 4th Best Speaker overall.
Favour Egbogu extended her remarkable run at the tournament by securing the 3rd Best Speaker spot in Public Speaking, while Daniella Okoro and Wendy Chiaha added to the university’s tally by breaking as the 9th Best Speaker and 10th Best Speaker, respectively.
In judging excellence, Judith Amarachi Ojiako broke as a Public Speaking Judge and emerged as the 3rd Best Judge in Public Speaking for the tournament.
These stellar results at the Royal Rhetorics Women’s Open 2026 reflect the dedication, brilliant critical thinking, and continuous training fostered within the Godfrey Okoye University debate community.
