Embracing Talents and Faith: A Christmas Message from GoUni!

The Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, has encouraged Nigerian youths to recognize and harness their God-given talents to make meaningful impacts in their lives and the world.

During a special event marking the formal end of academic activities for the Christmas break, the Vice-Chancellor cited the remarkable achievement of Miss Judith Amarachi Orjiakor from the Department of International Relations, who won a grand prize of ₦1.5 million at the just concluded Abuja City Journal National Essay Competition.He urged students to focus on using their intelligence to earn honest and valuable rewards rather than resorting to criminal activities that could destroy their future.

In his sermon during the Holy Mass, Reverend Father Professor Anieke reminded everyone to seek God’s presence, avoid dishonesty, and nurture connections with Him. He also called on students to promote joy in their families and work towards resolving conflicts in their homes.

The Director of Competitions, Mrs. Uchanta Chukwu, while presenting the ₦1.5 million check on behalf of Miss Orjiakor and Godfrey Okoye University Award, encouraged students to actively participate in competitions and leverage their talents positively. She commended Miss Orjiakor’s dedication and zeal, urging others to follow her inspiring example.

As our students from Godfrey Okoye University and the Institute of Ecumenical Education Thinkers Corner, Enugu, embark on their Christmas break, we wish them a season filled with joy, reflection, and blessings.

Classes resume on 4th January 2025.
