The Pro-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, Professor Dr. Christian Nwachukwu Okeke has been installed as the traditional ruler of Obinofia Ndiuno Ancient Kingdom in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Professor Okeke was crowned by the kingmakers of the community and given the traditional title Igwe Eze Osuofia I of Obinofia Ndiuno, formally ascending the throne as the monarch of the kingdom.
Speaking after his installation, Igwe Professor Christian Nwachukwu Okeke expressed deep gratitude to God and to the people of Obinofia Ndiuno for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to lead with justice, fairness, and equity and to discharge his responsibilities as a traditional ruler with humility and a strong sense of service to the people.
The coronation ceremony was preceded by a Holy Mass held at Saint Mark’s Catholic Church, Obinofia Ndiuno. The Mass and the installation ceremony attracted numerous dignitaries, including principal officers and professors of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu. The university delegation was led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Sergius Udeh.
