
GODFREY OKOYE UNIVERSITY CLOSES 2024-2025 ADMISSIONS!
Admissions for all programmes, departments, and faculties at Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, have officially closed for the 2024-2025 academic session. The Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, announced during a Thanksgiving Holy Mass to welcome newly admitted students during the university’s 16th Matriculation ceremony.
During the sermon titled “Blessings and Curses,” Reverend Father Anieke emphasized the importance of placing trust in God, stating that a blessed person is one who relies on God and not man. He also reminded the students that trusting in earthly wealth leads to emptiness, while suffering can reveal inner goodness.
The Vice-Chancellor urged students to remain focused on their studies and become responsible members of society, contributing positively to their families and communities.

EXPANSION OF SPECIAL AWARDS TO ALL FACULTIES
Reverend Father Anieke also announced that the university’s special awards—₦1 million and employment opportunities for the best graduates from the Faculty of Law and College of Medicine will be extended to other faculties.
He reiterated the university’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and reminded students that laziness is not tolerated at Godfrey Okoye University.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the institution’s core values of hard work, dialogue, and spirituality as essential to the university’s continued success.
Additional announcements from the Vice-Chancellor included:
No Cheating: Cheating in examinations will result in at least a one-year suspension, with more serious cases leading to expulsion.
Zero Tolerance for Cultism: The university is committed to eradicating cultism, and any student engaging in negative activities will face strict disciplinary action.
Freedom and Safety: Reverend Father Anieke assured students that they will not be harassed, intimidated, or extorted by any staff or student within the university.
UPCOMING EXAMINATIONS
The 2024-2025 First Semester examinations are scheduled to begin on February 17, 2025. Reverend Father Anieke urged all students to prepare well and strive for academic excellence.
