GODFREY OKOYE UNIVERSITY DECLARES 13TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY OPEN

Godfrey Okoye University Enugu has officially opened activities for its 13th Convocation Ceremony with a solemn Holy Mass presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke.

Addressing the graduating students, the Vice-Chancellor urged them to step into the world as morally, spiritually and academically grounded ambassadors of the university. He cautioned against negative habits, including alcohol addiction, and reminded them that the values instilled in them at GOUNI are foundations for a successful and responsible future.

Professor Anieke also reflected on the rising conflicts across the globe, noting that those who remain rooted in God will continue to find peace. He encouraged Christians to avoid jealousy, procrastination and the distractions of misleading social media content, reminding all that every individual will account for their actions.

Highlighting the significance of Convocation Week, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the university’s unwavering commitment to consistency in its policies, programmes and annual celebrations. He noted that this year’s ceremony marks the first time a Best Graduating Student also served as Vice-Chancellor for One Day. The Mass also featured the joyful baptism of babies, adding colour to the occasion.

Principal Officers of the university took turns to outline the key events scheduled for each day of the week-long Convocation activities.

The Holy Mass, which coincided with the beginning of Advent, officially signalled the commencement of the 13th Convocation Ceremony of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu.
