Godfrey Okoye University Enugu Inaugurates Start-up Incubation Centre.
We are happy to announce the inauguration of our Start-up Incubation Centre by our esteemed Vice Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke. He emphasised that universities should focus on solving societal issues rather than merely complaining about them. Godfrey Okoye University is committed to meeting the needs of our community and creating positive impacts!
Highlights of the Vice-Chancellor’s speech at the event include:
Winning about 200 million Naira in grants for impactful projects.
Full approval to run Nursing and Midwifery courses starting from the 2024-2025 academic year.
Full accreditation from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria for our College of Medicine, allowing our medical students to take their second MB examinations.
A partnership with Kepler University, Austria, for advanced training of our medical students.
Reverend Father Professor Anieke also emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship, noting that our Start-up Incubation Centre is a direct response to the call for innovative thinking and job creation in Enugu.
Thank you to Mr. Christopher Chidiebere Uwakwe, our Director of Entrepreneurship, for his dedication to making the GO Startup Incubation Centre a beacon of hope and opportunity. We also appreciate the support from the Enugu State Government, represented by Special Adviser on Digital Economy and MSMEs, Arinze Chilo-Offia, who pledged to partner with us in training new entrepreneurs.
Gratitude to our Foreign Liaison Officer, Meggy Kantert, and our self-employed graduates who shared their inspiring success stories.
We are excited for the future and the opportunities this centre will bring to our students and the wider community.
