Godfrey Okoye University Holds Online Senate Meeting!
Godfrey Okoye University has continued all its academic activities online. Apart from deploying robust e-learning facilities on campus, which have guaranteed the continuation of its academic activities, the university now uses zoom to conduct all its meetings, including the senate meetings. This innovativeness has placed the university far ahead of other universities in Nigeria. During a virtual senate meeting on zoom on 14 May 2020, the VC of the university, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, thanked the members of the Senate for agreeing to work with his tempo in the transition of the university from a “physical university to a virtual university” in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. He encouraged the members to continue to supervise all online activities in the various programmes of the university. He also used the occasion to announce an international conference on e-learning being organised by the Directorate of Academic Planning and the ICT Unit of the university on June 10, 2020. According to him, the conference would be completely virtual and would use the latest zoom technology. The VC prayed for God’s special protection of the staff members, the students of the university and all Nigerians.
