The Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke has expressed gratitude to the students and staff of the University for their great contribution to
emergence of the university as the one hundred and forty-seventh (147th) best university in Africa, third best private university in Nigeria and the best private university in the southeast.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the latest rankings have confirmed the university as one the fastest
growing tertiary institutions in Nigeria and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke who remarked this at a general prayers at Goodluck
Ebere Convocation Arena, Thinkers Corner, Enugu urged the students and staff to exchange gifts in the spirit of Christmas.
He announced that next session, nursing and pharmacy courses would be added to the University’s academic programmes
The Vice-Chancellor revealed that over 1000 new students were admitted during the current 2023/2024 academic session of Godfrey Okoye University.
He reminded the new students to tidy up their documentation at the university and prepare
themselves for their matriculation. He advised the students to be on good behaviour and abstain from any kind of negative behaviour such as
sharing negative messages or pictures stressing that the body is the temple of God and therefore should be kept holy.
Reverend Father Professor Anieke emphasized the need for gratitude, especially this Christmas
season pointing out that they should endeavor to exchange gifts and learn to appreciate one another.
He also reminded the students that the holiday would commence on Saturday 16th of December 2023 and that staff and students would return to campus on the same day 5th of January 2024.
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated those who performed creditably during the entrepreneurship program, of the University and awarded the first, second, and third best the sum of seventy thousand naira, fifty thousand naira and thirty thousand naira respectively.
He prayed for God’s blessing and wished the people journey mercies and a merry Christmas.
