Godfrey Okoye University Kicks Off 12th Convocation Activities with a Holy Mass.

Godfrey Okoye University Enugu has commenced its 12th convocation with a solemn Holy Mass, setting a spiritual tone for the upcoming celebrations. Over 400 graduates will soon be awarded degrees and certificates as part of this landmark event.

During the Mass, Vice-Chancellor Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke highlighted a week filled with diverse events, including Holy Masses, competitions, the Gouni Marathon, and both inaugural and convocation lectures at the Thinkers Corner and Main Campus.

In his sermon, he encouraged all to embody a spirit of sacrifice and gratitude, emphasizing these virtues as pathways to God’s blessings. Reflecting on the university’s growth since 2009, he expressed heartfelt thanks to God and the late President Umaru Musa Yaradua, who signed the institution’s founding license.

Father Anieke also spoke on the challenges posed by Nigeria’s economic situation, affirming the university’s commitment to supporting staff welfare despite these difficulties. He advised against bias and prejudice, urging the community to make fair and considerate decisions.

The event was attended by the Pro-Chancellor, Professor Christian Nwachukwu Okeke, along with principal officers, deans, professors, and a gathering of staff and students.
