Godfrey Okoye University Recognizes Excellence and Announces Key Appointments at End-of-Year Celebration!
At a heartwarming end-of-year gathering for staff, the Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to rewarding talent and excellence.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor urged staff to “avoid being a crowd but be outstanding,” emphasizing that only the best is good enough for the university. He expressed deep gratitude to the staff for their dedication, highlighting that sacrifices made to elevate the university’s status would not go unnoticed.
Professor Anieke applauded Governor Peter Mbah for his remarkable work in Enugu State and announced significant appointments within the university:
Professor Serguis Udeh as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration
Dr. Linda Ugwuonah as Chairperson of the Senate Ceremonies Committee
Associate Professor Blessing Udeh as Director of Gender Affairs
Millie Kelly, a phonetics teacher at the university’s primary and secondary schools, as Director of Alumni Relations
The Vice-Chancellor also celebrated the achievements of the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration and Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Gozie Ogbodo, who now serves as the Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu.
Reverend Father Professor Anieke commended the university’s consistent performance in national and international rankings and praised the outstanding achievements of its 4,000+ graduates making waves worldwide.
Principal officers, representatives from various faculties, and directorates delivered their Christmas goodwill messages.
