GOUNI To Embark On Mass Education In Secondary Schools, Prisons
As part of its effort to improve the standard of education among the youths, the Godfrey Okoye University has unveiled plans to impact quality education on secondary school students and prison inmates in Enugu.
Prof. Christian Anieke, Vice Chancellor of the university, who disclosed this at the weekend during a press briefing to mark the 10th anniversary of the institution, slated for November 21, 2019, said the staff would be sent to schools and prisons to teach students and inmates on different subjects.
Anieke, who also disclosed that he would be in charge of the programme at the Enugu prisons Enugu to ensure those who were denied education through their detention benefitted, described education as a fundamental right of everybody, and not privilege.
