GOUNI TO PARTNER WITH GIZ-NIGERIA TO EMPOWER OUR STUDENTS!

Godfrey Okoye University Enugu is proud to announce a potential partnership with the GiZ-Nigeria Energy Support Programme (NESP) to empower our students and youths with life-changing vocational skills.

During a visit by the EU team and GIZ led by Mrs. Sharon Kaburuk, our Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, emphasized the university’s mission to produce job creators, not job seekers. Through initiatives like STEP-S, Entrepreneurial Studies, and the College of Practical Skills, we’ve already trained over 100 individuals in skills such as electrical work, plumbing, ICT, and entrepreneurship. Many have gone on to secure employment or establish their own businesses.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the need to address the challenge of unemployable individuals in Nigeria, stating that equipping youths with relevant skills is a powerful tool to combat violence and build a brighter future.

Mr. Christopher Chidiebere Uwakwe, Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurial Studies, echoed this vision, proudly sharing that our graduates are in high demand globally.

Mrs. Kaburuk expressed GIZ’s eagerness to join hands with us in this transformative mission. Together, we aim to create more opportunities for our youth and shape the next generation of skilled professionals.

Stay tuned for updates on this impactful collaboration!
