The Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, has announced that the university’s new Faculty of Computing and Information Technology will commence fully in 2025-2026 academic session.
Addressing the faculty’s final-year students, Reverend Father Professor Anieke revealed that the departments of Software Engineering, Data Science, and Cyber Security would form the foundation of the faculty. He emphasized that the university remains committed to the evolution of computer studies and reiterated that every student must own a laptop to meet the faculty’s requirements.
The Vice-Chancellor also announced the appointment of a Dean and Sub-Dean for the new faculty and stated that classrooms have transitioned to smart boards to promote interactive learning experiences.
He called on students and graduates to support the new faculty in achieving its objectives.
The meeting was attended by the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Lux-Mundi University, Umuahia, Professor Uche Onyekwelu, the Sub-Dean of the faculty, Dr Franklin Okeabanama and the President of COHON.
