Meet the Winners of GOU First-Ever Software Coding Competition
We are proud to announce the winners of our first-ever software coding competition, organised by the Directorate of Competition!
Our talented Computer Science students showcased their innovative skills and emerged victorious!
Ogbe Somtochukwu– Overall Best Winner
– Developed: Facial Recognition Attendance System
– Prizes: Cash award, three months of Internet data, and incubation by our Incubation Centre!
Obiano Chukwuemeka Israel– Second Place
– Developed: Blood Bank System
– Prize: Cash award
Arinze Mary Rose– Third Place
– Developed: Smart Farming Irrigation System
– Prize: Cash award

The competition involved two rigorous parts: a pitch on the developed apps and their deployment. About 10 students from the Computer Science department qualified for this challenge.
In his inspiring address, our special guest of honour, Vice-Chancellor Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, praised the competition as a commendable innovation for a sustainable future. He emphasized the importance of competition in retaining one’s identity and making a lasting impact. He appreciated Mrs. Uchanta Chukwu, our Director of Competitions, for her exceptional organization of this and other competitions.
