GODFREY OKOYE UNIVERSITY TAKES FIRST POSITION IN 2024 CATHEDRATICUM, DONATES 30 MILLION IN 2025, AS VC REVEALS SECRET OF SUCCESS

The Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, has attributed the remarkable growth and consistent success of the university and its affiliated institutions to the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

At this year’s Cathedraticum of the Enugu Diocese held at the Holy Ghost Cathedral, Ogui Deanery, Reverend Father Anieke described the event as “awesome and successful.” He praised the Enugu Diocese for demonstrating true generosity and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to always support the Church and serve God faithfully.

Godfrey Okoye University emerged in first position among all parishes and chaplaincies, with a record donation of 30 million naira, along with generous contributions of foodstuffs and other items.

Reverend Father Anieke was accompanied by the university’s principal officers, members of the Omnium Sanctorum Chaplaincy, and final year students who represented the student body during the event.

During the Holy Mass, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu, Most Reverend Dr. Callistus Onaga urged Nigerians to support the fight against insecurity by reporting suspicious activities in their areas. He encouraged the youth to learn trades or engage in agriculture, emphasizing that such efforts can strengthen the nation.

Bishop Onaga commended the Enugu State Governor for his visionary leadership, which he said has transformed the state. He also cautioned against negative lifestyles among young people and called for a positive shift in attitude and behaviour.
