GODFREY OKOYE UNIVERSITY ENUGU REAFFIRMS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR EXAM MALPRACTICES!
Academic integrity is not just a policy. It’s our identity.
In a bold move to reinforce this core value, Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, has once again made it clear: there is zero tolerance for examination irregularities.
At a recent strategic workshop organized for academic staff, the university’s leadership laid it all on the table.
The Vice Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke sounded the alarm on the rising sophistication of cheating tactics and the worrying complacency among some staff. He emphasized that “raising men and women of integrity” must remain our collective mission.
Echoing this, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Rev. Sr. Prof. MarySylvia Nwachukwu expressed concern about laxity in invigilation. She announced tighter screening processes before exams to stem the tide of malpractice.
In a powerful keynote, Rev. Br. Prof. Gregory Ekene Osuji, Dean of the Faculty of Education, reminded all that as educators, we are “custodians of truth, architects of moral character, and guardians of integrity.” He urged lecturers to actively supervise exams, model ethical behaviour, and educate students on the lasting damage of dishonesty.
The workshop featured paper presentations, honest conversations, and renewed commitments. It wasn’t just another meeting. It was a call to action.
Godfrey Okoye University stands firm. No shortcuts. No compromises. The credibility of our certificates must remain unquestionable.
