HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO OUR EVERYDAY HEROES!

At the Omnium Sanctorum Chaplaincy, Godfrey Okoye University, Thinkers Corner campus, we were reminded of fathers’ quiet strength and selfless sacrifices everywhere.

During a deeply reflective Holy Mass to mark Father’s Day, Rev. Fr. Rueben Chukwuebuka Ozoude urged fathers not to be discouraged even when their efforts go unnoticed. “Be persistent in serving your families and society,” he said. “Even when no one claps, heaven sees you.”

He called on fathers to be beacons of divine love and true leadership within their homes, men who resist the pressures of a world that often distorts values and instead lead with integrity and faith. Fr. Ozoude didn’t hold back, highlighting that Nigeria’s deepest wound is a crisis of leadership, a challenge he believes starts from the home.

The celebration ended with a heartwarming thanksgiving by the Catholic Men Organization, a moment that truly captured the grace and strength of fatherhood.

Here’s to all the fathers, biological, spiritual, and father-figures, who lead with love, give without counting, and shape the world one child at a time. We see you. We honour you.
