Silver Jubilee Mass and Primary School Graduation: A Celebration of Grace, Generosity, and Gratitude
The Silver Jubilee of priestly ordination of Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, began with a solemn Holy Mass at the Omnium Sanctorum Chaplaincy, Thinkers Corner, Enugu.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anieke described Jubilee as a celebration of God’s grace and divine blessings, an expression of God’s uncommon generosity. He emphasized the importance of helping those in need, especially those who may never be able to repay the kindness.
True generosity, he noted, is given freely and without expectation, and such selflessness invites God’s abundant blessings. He encouraged members of the chaplaincy to imitate Christ in charitable works and to remain open to the word of God, which he described as nourishment for the soul.
The Mass also doubled as a thanksgiving celebration for the graduating pupils of Godfrey Okoye University Primary School, making the occasion even more special for the young learners and their families.
A highlight of the event was a special fundraiser held in support of the chaplaincy choir, further reflecting the spirit of giving that marked the day.
Indeed, a beautiful and meaningful start to a weeklong celebration of faith, service, and community.
