VC of Godfrey Okoye University Shares Secret to Success
The Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, has encouraged Nigerian youths to embrace hard work and prayer as the true pathways to success. He offered this advice during a courtesy visit to GOUNI Radio 106.9 FM in Enugu, accompanied by a delegation from Austria.
Addressing the dangers of seeking wealth without effort, the Vice-Chancellor warned that such a lifestyle leads to mental poverty. “The worst kind of poverty is poverty of personality. Money does not mean everything,” he said.
He further urged those who are privileged to invest not in themselves alone, but in the lives of others, stating that true success lies in service and sacrifice.
Reverend Father Professor Anieke, who recently marked 25 years as a Catholic priest, attributed his journey to prayer, discipline, and grace. “Prayer imposes discipline, grace and strength. This is the secret of my success,” he stated.
Reflecting on his vocation, he revealed that he had no mentor priest or influence in his community, being the first Catholic priest from his area. His decision, he noted, was shaped by a deep commitment to prayer and consistent hard work.
