Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke has been extolled as a symbol of national unity and intercultural integration by the Archbishop of Abuja Metropolitan, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius Kaigama.

The Archbishop gave the commendation in Udi during a homily at the Silver Jubilee celebration of ten priests in the Catholic Diocese of Enugu. In his message, Archbishop Kaigama described Rev. Fr. Prof. Anieke is “a priest and academic who has consistently used education and faith to build bridges across regional and cultural divides.”

He noted that in a time when Nigeria faces rising division, the Vice Chancellor’s leadership at Godfrey Okoye University has stood out for promoting unity between the North and South, as well as encouraging peaceful coexistence among people of different ethnic and religious backgrounds.

The Archbishop emphasized that national healing must begin with those who lead, teach, and guide, urging others to emulate Rev. Fr. Prof. Anieke’s model of service. “We need more leaders like him leaders who see beyond boundaries and work for the good of all,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Ernest Obodo praised the people of Enugu State for their communal spirit and commended Governor Peter Mbah for his performance in office.

The high point of the celebration was the presentation of cars to the Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Ernest Obodo, a gesture that reflected the deep appreciation for his leadership and service and the spirit of generosity that marked the entire event.
