{"id":137864,"date":"2018-10-18T05:19:17","date_gmt":"2018-10-18T05:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gouni.edu.ng\/?p=137864"},"modified":"2018-10-18T05:23:18","modified_gmt":"2018-10-18T05:23:18","slug":"gouni-csms-produces-her-first-set-of-53-social-media-experts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gouni.edu.ng\/new\/gouni-csms-produces-her-first-set-of-53-social-media-experts\/","title":{"rendered":"GOUNI- CSMS PRODUCES HER FIRST SET OF 53 SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Godfrey Okoye University Centre for Social Media Studies (GOUNI-CSMS), the first of its kind in a Nigerian university, graduated its first set of students on 15th October, 2018 at the Justice Chukwurah Convocation Arena; GOUni, Thinkers Corner, Enugu.<br \/>\nThe brain behind modern civilization is the quest to melt the Global community into one singular pot through internet networking relationship as well as make living smatter and less mechanical.<br \/>\nIn just nine (9) years of her running, Godfrey Okoye University has made tremendous and unprecedented epochs in modern scholarship and researching. The University\u2019s Centre for Social Media Studies in addition to the recent Satellite TV license, is among the ever growing shots fired by the University at distinguishing itself from other Universities in Nigeria.<br \/>\nWith the graduation, the Centre produced fifty-three (53) web Consultants in the different spheres of Social Media platforms. The GOUNI-CSMS is targeted towards creating Social Media entrepreneurs who would explore the vast web job opportunities and solve the needs of man in the modern world. Graduates of the program are automatic service providers in Web Marketing, Blog Development and Maintenance, Web Content Developers and Web Graphic Editors among many other online Services.<br \/>\nIn the acknowledgment speech during the graduation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, greatly thanked the Coordinator of the Centre, Mr. John Koffi Anan for his doggedness and commitment to the birth and success of the Centre. The V.C boasted that no other university in Nigeria has been able to achieve as much as Godfrey Okoye University has within such few years of her existence. He attributed the admirable progression of the University to her determination to live ahead of others; that is \u2018Making Differences and Setting Paces\u2019. \u201cThat something is efficient does not mean that it cannot be improved upon\u201d from the above innovative driver,  The VC highlighted the ever increasing relevance of Social Media in the modern world but challenged the pioneer graduates of the Centre and the newly inductees to ensure that they expand the efficiency of the Social Media to the world. He proposed that they seek new ways to improve upon the uses of Social Media to ease life and create jobs.<br \/>\nAccordingly, the VC disclosed the plans of the University to set up a new faculty of Communication and Popular Media; of which Social Media Studies shall be a Department. Hence, the Social Media Studies department would award students with a Degree Certificate instead of a mere Certificate of participation.<\/p>\n<p>High point of the day\u2019s event<br \/>\nMiss Scholastica Ogbodo who emerge the Overall Best graduating Student of Godfrey Okoye University in the 2017\/2018 session also emerged the overall best graduate of the CSMS Program. She was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the Vice Chancellor who also announce that she shall be honored on 29th October as VICE Chancellor for One day: she shall be brought to school in the VC\u2019S entourage and taken into the VC\u2019s office to attend to all matters of the University for the whole day.<br \/>\nAdditionally, the VC approved that Miss Ogbodo be employed as one of the Instructors at the CSMS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Godfrey Okoye University Centre for Social Media Studies (GOUNI-CSMS), the first of its kind in a Nigerian university, graduated its first set of students on 15th October, 2018 at the Justice Chukwurah Convocation Arena; GOUni, Thinkers Corner, Enugu.
