The Pro-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Prof. Christian Nwachukwu Okeke has been honoured by the Class of 1989 Law graduates of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Okeke, who was the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Law at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, was celebrated for his significant contributions to the advancement of legal education and practice in Nigeria<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the ceremony, former secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Simon Ortuanya described Prof. Okeke as a guiding light who has shaped the careers of many legal professionals globally, having led various law faculties in Nigeria and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice N. Emehelu remarked that this recognition is a moral boost for educators in the legal field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Festus Eze, the Pioneer Registrar of Godfrey Okoye University, shared the challenges Prof. Okeke faced to ensure the success of the law faculties under his leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Anthony Mogboh, also praised the Class of 1989 for remembering and honouring their pioneer Dean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the Class of 1989 has pledged to support the endowment of a Chair in honour of Prof. Okeke, who also served as the founding Dean of the Faculty of Law at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sir Phil Emeka Chinwuba, President of the Class, known as ‘The Unique Pioneers’, announced this initiative during the event in Enugu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his response, Prof. Okeke expressed deep gratitude to the Class of 1989, noting that this recognition would motivate other law lecturers to further contribute to the training of legal practitioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a vote of thanks, the DVC Administration and Dean of the Faculty of Law of Godfrey Okoye University, Prof. Gozie Ogbodo, described Prof. Okeke as a mentor and patriot who has tirelessly advanced legal education both in Nigeria and abroad. Prof. Ogbodo also expressed appreciation to all those who made the event a success and emphasized that the Class of 1989 will continue to be exemplary ambassadors of their alma mater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
