Chizurum Rachel Ugwu joined Godfrey Okoye University as a Graduate Assistant in 2016 and became an Assistant Lecturer in 2021. She holds a B.A. in English and Literary Studies (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) and an M.A. in Literature (Distinction) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she is currently pursuing her doctorate. Her master’s dissertation examined Solitude in Wole Soyinka’s The Interpreters.

She has supervised undergraduate projects and currently serves as the academic adviser for 200-level students in the Department of English and Literary Studies. She has also participated in academic workshops and conferences, including Doing Interdisciplinary Literary Research (2025) and Developing an International Research Profile in a Resource-Constrained Environment (2025).

Research Interests: African Literature, Comparative Literature, Literary Theory, Interdisciplinary Approaches to Literature
