Rosemary Ossai N. is a linguist, lexicographer, and publisher. She holds a PhD in French Education from the University of Lagos, an MA in French from Université Stendhal Grenoble III, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Ibadan.

 

Rosemary has professional experience in lexicographic activities, including teaching, research, and student mentorship. She is the compiler of the 494-page RON French-English Picture Dictionary. The first edition was published by Evans Brothers Nigeria Publishers in 2013, and the second edition by RON Publishers in 2020. The Lagos State Ministry of Education approves the dictionary and is in use in a number of states in Nigeria. The French dictionary also emerged second globally in the Children’s category in 2020.

Her trips to Francophone African countries and to Europe enabled her to delve into French culture and language. Also, by traveling extensively through West, Central, East, and South Africa, Rosemary has been able to appreciate and value the rich cultures of various African countries and their biodiversity. Her other publications include a book on Environmental Education and Maintenance Culture at the Grassroots.

Her research field and interests include French language teaching and learning, lexicography and artificial intelligence, digital language tools development, low-resource languages, environmental education, and sustainability.
