Olive Chimeziri

Olive Chimeziri is a graduate of English and Literary Studies from Godfrey Okoye University, Class of 2024/2025. Throughout her undergraduate years, she distinguished herself by challenging stereotypes associated with the English and Literary Studies department. She consistently worked to reshape perceptions of arts students by showcasing their creativity, intellect, and relevance across academic and social spaces.

Her final-year research project, “Portrayal of Career Dilemmas and Societal Perceptions of English and Literary Studies Graduates in Achebe’s No Longer at Ease and Tartt’s The Secret History,” reflected her deep concern for how society views arts graduates and highlighted her ability to blend critical analysis with pressing contemporary realities.

Beyond academics, Olive was actively involved in campus life, serving as a keyboardist with NIFES, where she became fondly recognized for her vibrant presence. She also played a pivotal role in leading the Faculty of Arts to rare debating victories against other faculties, achievements she regards as some of her proudest moments at the university.

With a passion for creativity and social impact, Olive aspires to further explore professional and artistic opportunities, carrying forward the values of excellence, service, and innovation nurtured at Godfrey Okoye University.
