Prof. Felicia Nnenna Ene is a distinguished scholar of Language and Education whose career spans over three decades in teaching, research, and educational leadership. Currently serving as Dean of the School of Languages, Arts, and Social Sciences at the Institute of Ecumenical Education, Enugu, and Head of the Department of Arts Education at Godfrey Okoye University, she has played a central role in shaping curriculum reform, language pedagogy, and educational policy within Nigeria.
Her research and publications explore diverse areas including language education, curriculum studies, instructional strategies, applied linguistics, creative writing, and the intersection of education with cultural and social development. She is the author of numerous books and creative works, such as Drumbeats of Life, A Tragic Gamble, Will is Way, and Adventures of Ikem, alongside widely cited academic studies on the use of English in multicultural societies, instructional strategies for enhancing students’ language skills, and the role of education in sustainable development.
Beyond academia, Prof. Ene has contributed to civic leadership and community development through her engagements with professional associations, women’s organizations, and peace advocacy initiatives. She is a Fellow of the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria and an active member of the Curriculum Organization of Nigeria, the Reading Association of Nigeria, and the English Language Teachers’ Association of Nigeria.
