SEVEN EMINENT NIGERIANS INDUCTED INTO GOUNI HALL OF FAME
As part of the 12th Convocation Ceremony of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, seven distinguished individuals have been honoured with induction into the prestigious GOUNI Hall of Fame.
The inductees include:
Prof. Frank Akpuaka – Pioneer Provost, GOUNI College of Medicine
Engineer Gerald Otiji – Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Enugu State
Emeritus Prof. Edwin Nwogugu – Renowned Professor of Law
Captain Everest Nnaji – Flight Captain and Aviation Model
Ifeanyichukwu Obiakor – Businessman and Philanthropist
Mary Nkenna Azubuike – Current Student Vice-Chancellor for One Day
Ebere Onyinyechi Jibulu – 2023/2024 Best Graduating Student
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke celebrated the invaluable contributions of the inductees to the university’s growth. He highlighted Prof. Akpuaka’s exceptional leadership in the College of Medicine and Engineer Otiji’s infrastructural advancements in Enugu State.
Delivering the Convocation Lecture, Captain Everest Nnaji inspired graduates to embrace education as a catalyst for societal change, urging them to channel their passions into solving global challenges and leveraging modern technologies.
The Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Christian Nwachukwu Okeke commended Rev. Fr. Prof. Anieke’s dedication to upholding the university’s mission, while the former Executive Secretary of the NUC, Rasheed Abubakar, lauded GOUNI’s steady growth.
