Twelve Legal Icons Immortalized By GOU Law Students Association Chambers
We are excited to announce that twelve legal icons have been immortalized by naming the institution’s Law Students Association Chambers after them. This prestigious honour reflects their significant contributions to the legal profession and the success of our law faculty.
The distinguished beneficiaries include Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, late Justice Anthony Aniagolu, Chief Anthony Mogboh, Prof. Boniface Okere, Prof. Edwin Nwogugu, Prof. Race Achara, Peter Eze, Onyechi Ikpeazu, G.C Nnamani, Obra Legal Chambers, Justice Ugochukwu Ogakwu, Justice Centus Nweze, and Anthony Ani.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, highlighted the pivotal role of these legal luminaries in shaping the legal landscape and reaffirmed our commitment to nurturing quality lawyers for the nation.
Keynote speaker Justice Cyprian Ajah emphasized the importance of upholding professional conduct, advising students to prioritize competence over self-promotion.
Beneitta Onyekachi, President of GOUNI Law Students Association, expressed the significance of the LAWSA Chamber in preparing students for their future endeavors and fostering a lasting connection between the honorees, students, and the university.
