Unity Week 2024:Godfrey Okoye University Enugu Students Council of Honours (COHON)
Activities marking this year’s Unity Week of Godfrey Okoye University Enugu Students Council of Honours, COHON, begins on Sunday, 26th May 2024.
The President of COHON, Mr Finbarr Ekene Amadi who announced this during a GO Uni Radio 106.9fm Enugu live interactive programme, the Round Table, said the event would start with a Holy Mass on Sunday, 26th May 2024 at Omnium Sanctorum Chaplaincy Thinkers Corner Enugu.
According to Mr Amadi, activities for the COHON week will continue on Monday 27th with FACULTY day, featuring poetry, spoken words, and public speaking. At the same time, Tuesday is the Institute of Ecumenical Education Day.
The COHON President revealed that Health Day would be on Wednesday, Thursday would be Cultural Day, and Friday would be dedicated to beauty pageants and Awards.
He stated that Saturday would be for environmental cleanup, while a Thanksgiving holy mass would round off the week-long activities on Sunday, 2nd June 2024.
Contributing to the programme, the vice president of the student body, Miss Precious Nwobodo, said the students of the various faculties in the university had been mobilized to participate effectively in the activities.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of Competition of the university, Mrs Uchanta Chukwu, announced that there would be a quiz competition among the different faculties and the debate finals with attractive prizes for those who would come tops during the competitions.
The officials said the activities would be graced by the Vice Chancellor of the university and Director, Godfrey Okoye University Enugu and its group of institutions, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke with principal officers and other top dignitaries in attendance.
