FEBRUARY CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS

Dear Members of the University Community,

As part of our ongoing cybersecurity awareness program, February focuses on password security and identity protection.

Your passwords safeguard access to university systems, academic records, financial information, and personal data. Weak or reused passwords remain one of the most common ways cybercriminals gain unauthorized access.

*To stay protected, please follow these essential practices:*

– Use strong, long, and unique passwords for every account

– Avoid using personal details such as names or birthdays

– Do not reuse passwords across different platforms

– Never share your login credentials with anyone

– Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) wherever available for added security

Remember, your password represents your digital identity. If it is compromised, attackers can impersonate you and access sensitive information.

If you receive password reset notifications you did not request, unexpected login alerts, or notice unusual activity on your account, report it immediately to the GOUNI ICT Cybersecurity Awareness Unit.
