Purple House Emerges Victorious at the 2026 GOUSS Inter-House Sports Competition

​The spirit of excellence and healthy competition was on full display today at the Thinkers Corner premises as Godfrey Okoye University Secondary School (GOUSS) successfully held its 2026 Inter-House Sports Competition.

​In his opening address, the Administrator of the school, Rev. Fr. Anthony Chukwu reminded the student-athletes that the desire to win is the primary engine of success. He noted that while the goal is victory, the true value of these competitions lies in preparing students for the competitive realities of life and fostering significant mental growth.

​The Principal, Rev. Sr. Chibuzor expressed her profound gratitude to the Director of the Godfrey Okoye Group of Institutions, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, for his unwavering moral and financial support. She also extended her appreciation to the organizing committee and the teaching staff for their dedication in ensuring the event’s success.

​The Thrill of the Track

​The day featured a wide array of events that kept spectators on the edge of their seats, including:

​Standard athletics: 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relays (Male and female).

​Novelty events: Egg race, Banana race, Sack race, and the ever-popular parent and staff races.

​The ceremonial March Past.

​In the highly anticipated Invitation Relay, St. Leo’s Secondary School dominated by clinching first place in both the male and female categories. They were followed by the College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) as the male first runner-up, while Daughters of Divine Love and Holy Rosary took the second and third spots respectively in the female category.

​The Final Standings

​The atmosphere reached a fever pitch during the awards presentation. After a day of intense effort and sportsmanship, Purple House was crowned the 2026 Overall Champion.
