The 17th Matriculation Ceremony of Godfrey Okoye University is scheduled to be held on Friday, 27 February 2026.
The Vice-Chancellor, Christian Anieke, made this known while addressing students and staff during the Common Midday Prayer held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Convocation Arena, Thinkers Corner Campus, Enugu.
He announced the following key items:
1. The ceremony will commence with a Holy Mass at 9:00 a.m. at the Justice Cordial Chukwura Convocation Arena, Thinkers Corner Campus, Enugu.
2. All matriculating students are required to be properly dressed in black and white suits with the official university tie.
3. Students must be prompt and orderly, as the ceremony marks their formal admission into the university community.
4. The matriculation will be followed immediately by the commencement of the first semester holidays.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that any form of party or merriment by students outside the venue or university premises will not be tolerated and will attract appropriate penalties.
He further stated that students are expected to proceed on vacation on Saturday, 28 February 2026. However, matriculating students may leave immediately after the ceremony in the company of their parents or guardians.
As the university prepares to formally welcome a new cohort of students, members of the community are encouraged to take note of the schedule and be guided accordingly.
The 17th Matriculation promises to be a solemn, memorable, and defining moment in the academic journey of our newest students.
