Deans and Heads of Departments have been reminded of their vital role as models to students, with a call to remain approachable, listen attentively, and provide practical solutions to students’ concerns. This message was delivered by the Vice Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, during the university’s common Midday Prayer held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Convocation Arena, Thinkers Corner Campus One, Enugu.
He stressed that a healthy relationship between lecturers and students is key to building a supportive and effective learning environment. When students feel heard and guided, academic excellence becomes more attainable.
Students were also encouraged to take their studies seriously by attending lectures regularly. The Vice Chancellor described consistent attendance as a simple but meaningful way to honour the sacrifices made by parents and guardians.
Looking ahead, the university will hold its first mid-semester examinations from March 23rd to 27th. Lecturers have been urged to strictly adhere to the approved timetable, ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated process.
As the academic session progresses, the message is clear: commitment, discipline, and mutual respect remain the foundation of success for both staff and students.
